Doi Saket in the Rain

I live in the Doi Saket district, close to Chiang Mai in Thailand. I regularly take walks in this beautiful area in the early morning or late afternoon. In Northern Thailand, the winter months are dry. In those five months there is hardly any rain. But when the rain falls, a special atmosphere is created. In the less green winter landscape, the rain makes the area sparkle again. The colours of the sky become fresh and intense, grass and straw light up, blossoms glitter in the trees. It’s like everything stands out and takes on more meaning. Even in the sense that it makes you feel like your life seems more meaningful.
