Crashing Waves
Of the twenty months that I was forced to spend in Australia due to the covid epidemic, I lived right by the sea for sixteen months. From the house I had a fantastic view over the ocean. The view changed every day due to the tides, the position of the moon and the weather. You could look at it for hours. Sometimes the ocean was as smooth as a mirror, but sometimes the waves came crashing majestically almost terrifyingly at you.
While shooting I discovered a pattern. The waves came in sets of six, sometimes seven waves. Waves four and five were usually the highest. That awareness made shooting easier.
